Thursford Church NorfolkAlthough St Andrew’s retains a number of medieval features including its early 14th century west tower, north aisle and east bay it has undergone an extensive Victorian renovation exemplified by its chancel which encompasses piers, arcades and a mosaic reredos. Although the Victoriana divides opinion the east window, inserted in 1862, receives extensive praise with Nikolaus Pevsner going so far as to describe it as ‘…one of the most beautiful of its time in England, or indeed Europe, as good as the early Morris glass’.
