Stained Glass of the Grand Staircase Surrey House

Marble Hall

The Main Staircases

One of the most memorable sights in Surrey House is tucked away in one corner. Standing at the foot of the grand staircase, with its six different types of marble, one sees the most beautiful stained glass window and, further above you, the richly painted ceiling. The effect is stunning. The windows were part of the Skipper design and are redolent of the Arts and Craft movement.
